The Citi Rewards card is marketed as a credit card to make your shopping more rewarding. The Citi Rewards card gives you 10X Rewards for your shopping, online spending and more. 10X Rewards points equates to 4 miles per dollar (mpd), making it a great incentive to spend using this card for these categories for all miles lovers in Singapore.
Here are reasons why the Citi Rewards card is great for online shoppers (and miles lovers) in Singapore.
Shopping – For The Shopaholics
Get rewarded for your shopping, both in-store and online.
Shopping In-Store
Even with online shopping today, there are still things that we would prefer to buy in a physical store. We might want to try on clothes before we purchase it, to see if the size fits, especially for stores that do not offer free returns or exchanges.
The Citi Rewards credit card rewards you with 10X Rewards (or 4mpd) on your retail spending, department store spending and online shopping spending (local). This includes department stores, shoe stores, men’s and women’s clothing stores, children’s and infant’s wear stores, sports and riding apparel stores, family clothing stores, luggage and leather goods stores and more.
Shopping Online
The Citi Rewards card also rewards you for your all online shopping. This includes your shopping on sites such as Lazada, Zalora, Zara, Qoo10, Shopee, various blogshops and other online shopping retailers.
For those that frequently shop online for other items such as tech gadgets and beauty products, you’ll be glad to know that this 4mpd reward for online shopping is not limited to clothes, shoes and bags.
With the Citi Rewards credit card, you get 4mpd on all your online spend. This extends to categories such as your travel purchases on Klook, online electronic purchases such as buying from the online stores for Apple, Samsung, Microsoft and many other online sites.
To find out which card gives you the most rewards for the spending on a certain merchant, you can use WhatCard to help you out.
However, mobile wallet and travel-related transactions are excluded from earning this 4mpd. More specifically, these exclusions include:
Online Groceries – For Those In Charge Of Stocking Up The Kitchen & Pantry
The 4mpd you earn on your online spending extends to online grocery spending as well.
Get 4mpd with Citi Rewards when you order your groceries online through sites such as Amazon Prime Now, Fairprice On, Redmart and more.
Ordering groceries online allows you to order from the comfort of your home where you can take stock of what you need to buy during your next grocery purchase. You also enjoy the convenience of having these groceries, especially heavy items such as bottled drinks, rice and detergent, delivered to your doorstep.
Transport – For Loyal Ride-sharing Users
Besides earning 4mpd on your online spend, you can also earn 4mpd on your transport rides.
Earn 4mpd on your rides with Grab, ComfortDelGro and Gojek. Be it with your top-ups to your GrabPay wallet or charging the ride directly to your Citi Rewards card, you can earn 4mpd on your transport costs.
While you can use your Citi Rewards Card to tap and pay for train and bus rides with SimplyGo, keep in mind that SimplyGo transactions on Citi Cards will not earn Citi ThankYou Points.
Food Delivery – For Those That Don’t Want To Walk Out For A Meal
Enjoy your 4mpd on the meals you order to your doorstep.
For those that frequently order food delivery, the Citi Rewards card gives you 4mpd when you charge this card for your food delivery with providers such as GrabFood, Deliveroo, foodpanda.
Flexible Redemption Of Reward Points – For Those Looking To Accumulate Miles
When you use the Citi Rewards card, you are rewarded with Citi Reward Points. These Reward Points can then be redeemed through Citi ThankYou Rewards which allows you to convert the Points into a reward of your choice, such as miles, gift vouchers, merchandise, purchases on Apple, Amazon and more.
However, there is a cap of up to 10,000 Points per statement month. Once the cap of 10,000 Points per statement month is reached, you can still continue to earn 1X Reward for every dollar charged. There is no cap on the 1X Reward that you can earn.
Your Citi Reward points can be redeemed through Citi ThankYou Rewards. When transferring your Points into miles, keep in mind that your Points have to be transferred in increments of 25,000 Points. Every 25,000 Points equates to 10,000 miles.
You will incur a Points Transfer fee of $25 per redemption. With the fees being charged per redemption, a savvy miles lover would try to accumulate as many miles as possible, in a single redemption.
