DollarsAndSense Editorial Policy

DollarsAndSense was founded in 2012 with the mission to help Singaporeans make better financial decisions. This desire to serve our readers is at the core of everything we do.

This Editorial Policy articulates our values and outline the procedures put in place to guide our editorial team in publishing content that is objective, relatable and of value to our readers.

By embodying the best of traditional media’s journalistic rigour with the possibilities of online media, DollarsAndSense aims to be a positive influence on Singapore’s financial media space to collectively reach a higher standard.

1) Terms Of Reference

As an independent media website, DollarsAndSense does not provide any financial advisory services nor are we licensed to. None of the content on the website should be construed or taken as specific financial or investment advice. DollarsAndSense is not liable for any losses which may result due to a reader acting upon information presented by the site.

As an added suggestion, we strongly recommend for readers to do their own due diligence, and to consult with a licensed professional if required, before making any financial, investment or insurance decisions.

2) Content Quality

We owe everything to our readers and hold ourselves to the highest standards to earn and keep their trust. Information we reference should come from verified sources and properly attributed. Besides being the right thing to do, we want to support fellow content creators and introduce useful resources to our readers. Readers can expect the information presented by DollarsAndSense to be accurate.

If there are information on our site that you feel is incorrect, or could be better explained, we warmly welcome the feedback. Please contact us at [email protected]. We promise to do our best to address it.

3) Relationship With Partners

Our editorial team has the final say over the content we produce, not advertisers or partners. This is regardless of whether an article is organic or sponsored.

In traditional print and online media, advertising has a vital role in supporting the production of valuable content, which can be accessed and enjoyed by all, and in our case, at no cost to readers.

We will always publish articles with the readers’ interests at heart, whether the piece is organic, sponsored, or contains affiliate links. When needed, we will work with partners to ensure that the content we produce are accurate, and raise important questions that we believe needs to be addressed.

Advertisers: DollarsAndSense maintains a strict and traditional separation between advertising and editorial content. If we lose our objectivity, we lose all credibility to our readers, and consequently, and in time will have diminished value to our advertisers and partners.

Affiliate Partners: We choose our affiliate partners carefully and make affiliate arrangements that will bring value and benefit to our readers. However, any transactions conducted between readers and an affiliate partner of DollarsAndSense is conducted at the sole discretion of the reader.  DollarsAndSense is not responsible for any advice given or losses resulting from the transaction. As a reader, if you have feedbacks on any of the affiliate partners that we work with, please let us know at [email protected].

4) Disclosure

A statement about any advertiser/partnership relationship will be stated within the first two paragraphs of articles. We will also note when we were provided samples, trips or other materials that directly relates to the production of the content.
