[Updated] Upcoming Personal Finance Events In Singapore You Should Attend In 2019

Increasingly, we are able to gain important personal finance knowledge by spending time online – either visiting personal finance websites, such as the one you’re currently on, watching videos, attending webinars, reading e-books and many other ways.

However, this doesn’t take away the immense value of attending events in-person, where you get to listen to speakers explain their thought process, engage in Q&A sessions with specialists and interact with other like-minded participants.

So here is a list of upcoming personal finance events you can attend to level up your personal finance, investing, and insurance game!

#1 CPF Retirement Planning  Roadshows

The CPF board has kicked-off its latest round of retirement planning roadshows to close out the year, with the theme The Future is Closer Than You Think. Be Ready with CPF. The first round of roadshows happened last weekend, with 4 more weekends to go.

#2 4Q2019 Market Insights Conference 2019

The Housing Development Board conducts regular seminars and roadshows to help Singaporeans better understand government policies and grants when it comes to housing.

In this HDB Heartland Talk, the theme is on “Buying Your First Home”. It will cover topics like how to use your CPF savings for your house, advice on engaging a property agent to look for a resale flat on the open market, as well as other financial planning considerations when making your first flat purchase.

Those who are specifically planning to buy a resale flat can also consider attending the HDB Heartland Talk Resale Seminar in December, which will be conducted in English (7 December) and Mandarin (14 December).

Seats for these talks tend to get fully booked, so register early to avoid disappointment.

#4 My Money Seminar 2019

By now, seniors of the Merdeka Generation would already have received their Merdeka Generation packages, which includes a pamphlet to explain the 5 benefits they would be enjoying, including the PA Silver Card top-up, MediSave top-ups for the next 5 years, enhanced CHAS benefits, additional MediShield Life premium subsidies, and greater participation incentives to join CareShield Life.
