Best (Free) Spots To Watch The Race
The night race is located along one of the busier streets of Singapore, which is transformed into a race track for the race and there are plenty of landmarks and shopping centres that do offer a good view of the race.
But be prepared to sweat it out if it is outdoors with many others who are there to watch the race for free too.
Here are some locations to watch the race:
Marina Square
You can catch the race cars along Turn 6 and 7 at this spot. For a better look, head to the roof garden on the third floor where you can see Turn 15 and 16. But as the viewing is outdoors, do bring an umbrella or a portable fan and some water to quench your thirst.
You can get views of Turn 5 and 6 here and can maybe even smell the burnt tires as they speed along the road on the race track.
Raffles Place
The busy business district is located next to the race track and you might be able to get a great view. But do note that there will be road closures in the area close to the race track, so you may have to walk there on top of finding a good viewing spot.
Best Hotel Locations To Watch The Race
You will be pampered and treated to an eyewatering display in the comfort of your hotel room.
Many of Singapore’s best hotels are located around the Marina Bay street circuit but these dates won’t come cheap and the rooms of the hotels will likely be snatched up by F1 fans all over the world.
To be sure that your room has a view of the circuit, be sure to check directly with the hotel before making a reservation. Some hotels even have balcony facing rooms, but be prepared to pay the price.
Here is a list of the hotels that offer views of the circuit (subject to availability):
Located next to Turn 9, this hotel is next to two MRT stations (City Hall and Esplanade). You can opt for Harbour View rooms for the best look on the track action.
Located on the inside of the circuit next to Turn 6. You get great views of the circuit and Singapore’s skyline. Book a room with a view of the harbour. There is also the Pacific Club lounge on level 38 with 360 degree views of the harbour and city.
The popular swanky hotel will be packed during the F1 weekend. Some rooms have circuit views.
The centre of the action might just be here. The prized room will be the Esplanade Room as you can walk the cars speed over the Anderson Bridge before turning onto Esplanade Drive.
The hotel is near the Padang area of the circuit which you can easily walk to.
A few minutes from the pits, there are also parties held by the hotel during the race weekend
Located in Zone 3 of the circuit, be up close in the action as the hotel is right in the action.
JW Marriott Singapore South Beach
It is close to Turn 5 and is one of the highest speed sections of the circuit.
Park Royal Collection Marina Bay
Get a guaranteed view of the tracks at Lifestyle Premier Rooms, or you can book north-facing rooms to get a view of the Turns 6 to 8. South-facing rooms will provide you with Turn 14 views.
