5 Local Sports Chains You Can Go To With The Demise Of Sportslink

Sportslink might have fallen, but here are other local sports chains that are still around.


You may have heard the recent news that Sportslink has closed, after more than 35 years in the business. With their shut down, Singaporeans would need to take their business somewhere else.

Instead of big chains such as JD Sports, Decathlon, or Royal Sporting House (which was first established in Indonesia), here are options for those who prefer shopping at local sports retailers.

#1 World Of Sports

One of the bigger sports chains in Singapore, World of Sports was started in 1991, carrying brands such as Mizuno, Salomon, Columbia and Spaulding. Offering apparel and equipment for a wide array of sporting activities, you might prefer World of Sports if you do not want mainstream apparel from the usual brands.

With eight outlets under its wing currently, including Mizuno and Columbia stores, World of Sports has outlets islandwide to serve customers.

#2 Sintec Sportscity

Known for their specialisation in badminton, Sintec Sportscity offers a range of attire and equipment for racket sports in Singapore. With their expertise, they aim to help support the local sports scene and raise the standard of Singapore sports in the international arena. Besides stocking products from well-known brands such as Yonex or Li-Ning, they also provide restringing services and professional badminton services.

Sintec currently has three locations across Singapore, with their main office being in Bedok, and branches in Tampines and Jurong East.
