Most of us are no strangers to membership programmes. From credit cards, shopping malls, to fitness clubs, we would have signed up for some form of membership. For those of us who enjoy the island beach life, Sentosa also offers its own Sentosa Islander Membership. Before you start making wild guesses about the fees, it is absolutely free! So, what does it mean to be a Sentosa Islander member?
What Is Sentosa Islander Membership?
Source: Sentosa Islander
The Sentosa Islander Membership is a year-long membership scheme offered by Sentosa Island, one of the most popular recreational hotspots in Singapore.
With the ceasing of Family Islander Membership from 31 March 2020, there is only one type of complimentary membership, which is the Sentosa Islander Membership. Upon successful sign-up, you will login to Sentosa Islander Members’ Portal to access your digital card.
As an Islander member, you get to enjoy free admissions to Sentosa via Sentosa Express or driving in through Sentosa Gantry alongside other privileges such as exclusive invites to events and promotions around the year.
A piece of good news is that anyone – Singaporean and foreign visitors included – with a valid email and local mobile number is eligible to apply for membership.
If you have children below the age of 12, they are already entitled to unlimited free entry to Sentosa with their student Ez-link card. But you can still consider signing them up for Islander Membership to enjoy other benefits including attractions discounts and food and beverage deals.
#1 Unlimited Free Island Admission
If you are entering the island via Sentosa Express, simply login to your Islander account to retrieve and scan your digital card at the Sentosa Express station to enjoy free admission.
If you are driving in through the Sentosa Gantry, you can login to your Islander account to register your vehicle and in-vehicle unit (IU) for free admission.
#2 Two-Hour Complimentary Parking At Beach Station
Gone are the days you have to worry about hefty parking fees while making a trip to Sentosa by car. You can now redeem a free parking coupon by flashing your digital card at the Islander Counter located at Beach Station.
Do note that each visitor is entitled to redeem only one parking coupon per day, which comes with two-hour free parking. Additional charges apply when parking exceeds two hours. There is also a chance that the parking coupons may run out as it is limited to 500 redemptions per month.
#3 Priority Access to Sentosa Beaches
Since it is not a good time to travel overseas, heading to the sunny shores for some sea breeze can be one of your weekend getaway options. As an Islander Member, you can visit the beach even during peak periods without any prior reservation.
Each member can redeem up to 5 beach entry wristbands at the Beach Entry Kiosks, which means that you can bring a maximum of 4 friends to the beach.
It is better to plan your visit in advance, as there are only two beach entry sessions per day – 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm. Beach entry wristbands are distributed on a first-come first-served basis.
