New year, new resolutions. If one of your new year’s resolutions is to start learning more about how to manage your finances and/ or start investing, there is no better time to start than now.

After a tumultuous year in 2020, many of us are realising the importance of having an emergency fund. The stock market rallies and even the surge in bitcoin has also piqued many people’s interest in investing and trading. As the world grapples with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and takes hope in vaccine recovery, 2021 looks to be another eventful year.

To help you on your personal finance journey, we have curated a list of personal finance webinars and events in Singapore to help expand your knowledge and confidence. Take charge of your personal finances this year and make 2021 a better year ahead.

#1 [27 February, 1 to 5 March] Singapore Trading Festival

The inaugural Singapore Trading Festival is organised by SGX, in partnership with InvestingNote. This event will take place on 27 February with an all-day virtual submit with 15 topics and 24 speakers while the trading competition will be held from 1 to 5 March 2021.

Whether you are a trading novice or seasoned trader, the virtual submit has something for everyone interested in trading. Uncover insider secrets with the keynote address “Unveiling the Secrets of Elite Traders” by Mike Bellafiore (co-founder, SMB Capital & SMB Training), pick up trading strategies such as “Timing the Market Exit and Entry in a Volatile Market” or learn how to use complex products to maximise your returns such as “How to use warrants for multiplied potential returns in the market & SGX simulation game”. Those more conversant in Mandarin will also benefit from the sessions held in Mandarin.

The webinar will introduce the different asset classes available and how a beginner investor can go about creating and managing your portfolio. This webinar is part of StashAway Academy’s ongoing education series. The seminars may also be used by Representatives of Financial Institutions to fulfill their annual Supplementary Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, subject to their respective compliance team’s approval.
