To help you on your personal finance journey, we have curated a list of personal finance webinars and events in Singapore to help expand your knowledge and confidence. Take charge of your personal finances this year and make 2021 a better year ahead.

#1 [10 to 11 September] Citi Foundation-SMU Financial Literacy Symposium: Democratisation of Financial Knowledge

As the world continues to advance in an unprecedented manner with uncertainty surrounding the pandemic situation, building individual’s financial resiliency has become increasingly important. Join Citi Foundation and SMU Financial Literacy Program in The Democratisation of Financial Knowledge Symposium which aims to enable access to essential financial knowledge, tools, and services for all indiviudals.

Held across two days from 10 to 11 September, there will be a FinHack Demo on the first day too. The symposium will be covering a broad range of topics from financial inclusion, FinTech, women financial well-being to financial resilience.

The key speakers include Minister of State for Ministry of Education and Ministry of Manpower, Gan Siow Huang, Samuel Rhee (CIO and Chairman of Endowus), Eric Anziani (COO of Crypto.com), Jacqueline Chua (President of Financial Woman’s Association Singapore), and Dawn Cher (Founder of SG Budget Babe). The event will be hosted by Kyle Ravin while Benjamin Kheng will be starring as a guest performer.

Additionally, participants can join the symposium’s IG contest and stand a chance to win prizes such as Lumos Projector, Nespresso Coffee Machine, and Google Nest Mini.

This is the 8th Symposium jointly hosted by Citi Foundation and SMU Financial Literacy Program for Young Adults’ mission. The event is organised to help increase Singapore youths’ financial awareness as well as improve their financial knowledge to help them in their financial journey.

 #2 [13 September to 22 October] InvestingNote: SG Active Trading Tournament 2021

Jointly organised by Investing Note, Société Générale and supported by Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX), SG Active Trading Tournament is one of the biggest trading competitions in Singapore. The tournament focuses on trading Daily Leverage Certificates which gives traders leverage exposure to stocks and essential Asian benchmarks such as the Hang Seng Index.

All are welcome to join the event including beginners. The event is free, and beginners can learn to trade with a free video crash course by Everest Fortune Group’s CEO, Desmond Leung. Held across six weeks, the first three weeks marks the elimination round before qualified participants get to proceed to the final round from 11 October to 22 October.

The event is filled with prizes. Upon signing up, you can stand a chance to win an Airpods Pro and even a free staycation at MBS. During the elimination round, $60 worth of CapitaLand vouchers daily to be given to the top trader of the day. Lastly, the grand prizes for the tournament are cash prizes of $4,000, $2,000 and $1,000 for the top three traders.
