This past Saturday was InsureXpo by CIMB 2026, an event that brought together Singapore’s insurance ecosystem, including insurers, policymakers, academics, and industry experts. InsureXpo by CIMB 2026 is the third edition of the annual event, and possibly one of the most well-attended. Having attended InsureXpo last year, one thing that really struck me about this year’s edition was how much more diverse the crowd was. The event is designed for adults to learn about insurance, but there was something for everyone, regardless of whether you were a young child or a retiree.
Last year’s event felt ambitious in scope, as it sought to build on the inaugural event’s success by doubling the floor space by moving from Marina Bay Sands to Suntec Convention Centre. This year’s InsureXpo, in contrast, projected confidence and security, reflecting its status as one of Singapore’s most popular events in the personal finance space. It was held once again at Suntec Convention Centre, Halls 405 and 406, but used the space more efficiently, thanks to an overarching theme that helped to bring it all together.

The Money Gym Arena Was A Well-Conceived Success
This year, the “Money Gym” concept helped the hundreds of attendees connect much better to the value of insurance by using familiar activities to represent the different facets of insurance and retirement planning.

The interactive stations at the Money Gym Arena all leaned in on the theme of physical fitness and sports. CIMB’s main booth used vertical jump testers to represent jumpstarting wealth, while the Singlife booth used various minigolf courses to represent the challenges at each stage of life.
Other booths like Income’s and AIA’s used motion sensors to power simple fitness challenges, with Manulife’s booth challenging one’s hand-eye coordination with a falling stick reaction game machine and Tokio Marine’s booth having a basketball hoop shot machine.
Prudential’s booth kept to a simple shuttle run track, while FWD’s extremely popular booth saw the return of vendor Partyinkers to ensure attendees got to go home with a personalised souvenir of the event.

Each of these Money Gym Arena activities was popular with all attendees, regardless of age, with both young and old having a chance to try the various physical challenges, none of which required much exertion. It was very heartwarming to see families with young children having a great time at the event, as well as retirees having the enthusiasm and energy to give their all at each booth.
Many Attendees Were There To Listen And Learn
However, it was the thought-provoking Main Hall sessions and tailored Breakout Rooms that perhaps were the most popular, with many sessions like Mr. Loo Cheng Chuan’s “10M65: The CPF ‘Kungfu’ to Strengthen Your Financial Future” energetic talk getting a huge response from the attendees, many of whom were listening to the sharing even at the back of Hall 406. Attendees of each of the Main Hall sessions came regardless of age group and life stage, even though some sessions, like “Gen Zs, Are We Cooked?” and “You’re Funding Three Futures. Here’s How to Not Lose Yours”, seemed to cater to a specific target audience.
In the smaller Breakout Rooms, many sessions, including those showcasing the co-founders of The Woke Salaryman, Mr. Goh Wei Choon and Mr. He Ruiming, as well as SG Budget Babe’s Ms. Dawn Cher, had crowds queuing to enter as much as 30 minutes early, leaving many disappointed when staff had to limit the number of attendees.
InsureXpo 2026 Proves That There Is An Appetite For Financial Education
The success of InsureXpo 2026 confirms that there is a consistent desire for personal financial education in Singapore, it just takes the right theme and a visionary organiser puttiing such a fun-filled, no hard-sell environment.

As Mr. Andrew Boey, Chief Financial Officer and Officer-in-Charge, CIMB Singapore said in his opening speech, there is no shortcut to financial resilience. This year’s Money Gym concept works simply because everyone understands that financial stamina and resilience, just like physical strength and endurance, requires consistent commitment throughout life’s stages.
