The Cost Of Competing In HYROX Across Asia: From Singapore To Seoul To Bangkok

The new “it” fitness event to post on social media.

Some time ago, it seemed everyone was into the CrossFit craze. While that’s now faded into the background, for many in Singapore’s fitness community, HYROX has become the big “destination race” of the year.

With over 80 races across the world, about 650,000 athletes each season, and its worldwide social media boom, HYROX is the “it” event to attend. And, the great thing about the HYROX format is that it’s nearly identical wherever you go. As a result, that makes it interesting to look at how the costs vary from country to country.

Let’s take a look at the likely outlay you can expect to spend across different Asian destinations, whether you’re racing in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, or Bangkok.

Singapore: Your “Home” Benchmark

If you’re racing at home in Singapore, the major saving is obvious; you don’t have to deal with flights or accommodation costs. What you still pay is the race entry and any add-ons. For the 2025 edition, based on the fees for the event in June, registration fees started at $161 per entrant.

The ticket prices for November’s upcoming HYROX event in Singapore has not been released yet although reports in the Straits Times say some people reported paying $128 per person for the relay category and up to $174 for entry into the single males category.

HYROX also offers a Flex Add-On, which lets you refund or defer your entry if your plans change. That can be super useful given how quickly the race calendar fills up.

Spectator passes and processing fees are additional (and can be as low as $20), though for most local competitors, the real cost comes from training blocks, gym memberships, and supplements leading up to the race day.

If you live in Singapore, this is your baseline to measure all other Asian HYROX destinations against, at least in terms of entry cost.

Hong Kong: Big Venue With Big-City Prices

Hong Kong has become one of Asia’s flagship HYROX stopovers, given the city’s natural buzz. It’s hosted at the AsiaWorld-Expo near the airport.

Entry fees there (for the July 2025 race) were similar to Singapore, starting at around HK$660 (S$110) per person in the doubles to HK$1,050 (S$175) for the singles entry. The next HYROX Hong Kong event is set to take place on 8-10 May 2026.

Of course, you need to slap on flights, accommodation and travel spend to participate in overseas race. Return flights from Singapore range from $260 to $600, depending on airline and season. Accommodation, though, can make this one of the pricier options: expect to pay HK$900 to HK$1,500 ($155 to $260) per night for a decent 4-star hotel, particularly if you stay in Central or Tsim Sha Tsui. If you stay further out, you can get something slighty cheaper.

Despite the higher cost, Hong Kong offers world-class organisation and the buzzing energy. If you want the atmosphere of a major city race (and don’t mind paying for it) then this is a solid option.

Taipei: Cheaper And Cheerful

Taipei’s HYROX race takes place at the Nangang Exhibition Center, one of the most accessible venues on the circuit in Asia as it has direct MRT and airport-bus access. The 2025 race uses the same global format and Flex Add-On system.

Entry prices are among Asia’s most affordable, with local listings having shown NT$3,150 to NT$3,500 (about $130 to $145) for the 12 April 2025 race, depending on the exact category and phase. The next HYROX Taipei race is slated for 28 February 2026.

Flights from Singapore to Taipei are competitive, ranging from $170 to $500 return, while 4-star hotels near Nangang or Xinyi typically cost NT$3,000 to NT$4,500 per night ($125 to $190).

As we all know, food and transport in Taipei is cheap compared to the likes of Hong Kong and Seoul. It’s no surprise then that this makes Taipei a value option for a destination race in Asia.

Seoul: Gangnam-Style-HYROX

HYROX Seoul debuts on 8-9 November 2025 at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Gangnam, the same mega-venue used for Seoul’s large-scale expos and marathons.

Tickets range from KRW 196,300 to KRW 206,700, meaning you can expect to pay close to $190 at the high end for a single ticket – making it among the priciest HYROX in Asia.

Flights from Singapore to Seoul can average $350 to $600 return, while hotel prices near COEX sit around KRW 150,000 to KRW 220,000 per night ($150 to $220) for mid-tier stays.

Korea’s fitness scene has been booming in recent years and the local enthusiasm for functional training means some categories have already sold out. The race itself promises an exciting atmosphere but will come with the higher expected Gangnam price tag, both for hotels and dining.

Bangkok: Budget-Friendly HYROX

If you’re after a HYROX kick without breaking the bank, then Bangkok is the standout. The Thai capital’s HYROX races have typically been hosted at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) with cheaper ticketing compared with Singapore or Hong Kong.

In terms of pricing, 2025 HYROX prices in Bangkok started at around US$120 ($155) and the next Bangkok HYROX event will take place on 22-22 March 2026. Return flights from Singapore start from $150 to $250, and decent hotels are available relatively cheap at $80 to $120 per night, even in central Sukhumvit.

Between the low airfares, affordable food, and energetic crowd, Bangkok’s vibe offers participants the best value-for-money race destination in Asia right now.

What Actually Drives Your Total Bill

Three key variables determine whether an overseas HYROX ends up costing a bit more than Singapore or double the price.

It’s mainly down to the HYROX ticket price itself, flights, and accommodation. In places like Seoul and Hong Kong, accommodation can be substantially more expensive than Bangkok or Taipei.

In terms of flights, these can vary depending on seasonality and popularity of routes, but Seoul is certainly the longest flight (at over 6 hours from Singapore) so it wouldn’t be surprising to have to shell out the most for flights to the South Korean capital.

Food and accommodation-wise, it’d be hard to beat Taipei and Bangkok given both are known for low everyday expenses and comfortable accommodation at a modest pricepoint.

If you only pick one destination HYROX, Taipei probably offers up the best combination of accessibility, cost, and convenience.

Of course, Hong Kong remains popular given the prestige and crowd energy. But, prepare to pay a premium for travel expenses.

Seoul is setting itself up as the trendy newcomer with strong demand and big-city buzz, given the popularity of Korean cultural exports.

Finally, Bangkok is the budget option if you want a short flight, more affordable costs, and a fun weekend with great food.

Whatever you decide to do, though, it’s advisable to book what you need to book as early as possible.
