5 Questions With… is an initiative to feature local entrepreneurs and to give you a glimpse into their daily lives – how they live, work, and play.
This week, we speak to Miki Phoon, the Founder and CEO of M2GIC, Singapore’s first micro business company. The company creates and invests in its own products, and allow consumers access to these products and to distribute it via their own social media platforms. As a micro business company, M2GIC supplies its products to consumers and guide them on how to get started. This makes it different from the traditional supply chain, where appointed distributors tend to require much higher overheads and need to cough up a large sum of money to start their business.

3 Business Leaders Who Have The Biggest Influence On You Starting Your Own Business
Jack Ma – He had it hard before he got to where he is today. A true rags-to-riches story and definitely one which inspired me to believe in ourselves and that persistence in the face of adversity, rejection, and failure essentially are opportunities to propel ourselves ahead.
Tony Robbins – I admire how he overcame all his setbacks since young and not forgetting to lend help to millions of people when he became successful. – “It is not what we get. But who we become, what we contribute… that gives meaning to our lives”, he has taught me the art of giving and contributing back to society. This is why my company’s mission is to help ordinary people change their lives and I personally will always organize charity activity with my team and go out to help more people. We should give more back to society when we have the ability to.
Dong Ming Zhu – A legendary Chinese businesswoman. Charting her route from a mere saleswoman to the corporate throne, her determination and leadership skills in business has inspired me a lot as a businesswoman.
An Individual You Look Up To
The one person that I look up to is my mom. She singlehandedly raised my step sister and me. To me, she sets a great example of perseverance in the face of hardship and the value of hard work.
