Upcoming Event: The Future Is Female

And yes, we will be there as well.

I have a love-hate relationship with email.

On one hand, I love getting emails from my readers. I love your insights, your comments, and the great questions I get every week.

However with the volume of emails I get, it’s also super hard for me to carry out a decent email conversation with any given person. Email is awesome when your question can be answered with 1-2 sentences. However, it sucks when you’re looking for in-depth advice that will truly help you.

For example, I get plenty of emails from readers who ask questions like:

  • “How do I get started at investing?”
  • “How do you decide how much to allocate towards saving, housing, investing, etc?”
  • And (I kid you not): “Can you teach me how to find a beautiful girl to marry”

Questions like these don’t have easy answers. Especially that last one, because I have zero emotions and am literally the worst person to ask for love advice.

If you’re looking for truly in-depth advice, you probably won’t find it in your email. You won’t find it in the comments section of some blog. Instead, the best way to get good, honest advice is in-person.

The Best Place To Get Advice

Yes, it means you have to get off your computer and actually TALK to someone.

Yeah, I know that sounds totally weird. Imagine joking around with your colleagues over lunch, when you suddenly interrupt them and be like, “Sooooo… what are your thoughts on the optimal way to construct a portfolio?” Probably not the best idea.

But what if you found yourself surrounded by people who’re just as interested, just as serious as you are about improving yourself? Where might such a place be?

The answer: A conference.

I know, I know. The idea of “conference” brings up images of pretentious douchebags in business suits standing around handing out business cards. And of course, not all conferences are created equal.

But if you found the right conference, it could change your life. You’ll receive advice from the top experts in their fields. You’ll meet other people who simply get you and support you.

The Future Is Female

Which was why when Anna from The New Savvy asked me to speak at her upcoming women-only conference titled The Future Is Female, I said (in a pseudo gangsta-rapper voice) “Aw yeahhhhh!”

Anna and I have known each other for years. Whenever we play poker, she deals every round because she can’t stand how slowly we shuffle the cards. She’s the kind of person who knows how to hustle and take The New Savvy from nothing to a financial blogging powerhouse in less than 2 years.

So anyhoo, this is their first conference and I’m psyched to be a part of it. I’ll be on a panel together with the ever-charming Timothy Ho, the co-founder of Dollars & Sense. We’ll be talking about how millennials can make better decisions on investing, marriage and housing.

Here’s What To Expect

Yes, it’s a women-only conference. Yes, I’m aware that I’m not a woman.

But if you’re attending, you’ll hear from an impressive lineup of male and female entrepreneurs, bankers, venture capitalists, fashionistas and more. There’s even a female Ironman triathele (whaaaaatt?!).

Here are the rest of the deets:

Now, there’s a 20% Early Bird Discount going on from now till 8 March. So if you can lock in those dates now, definitely do it.

I’m Giving Away Two Free Tickets

Also, I’m giving away 2 free conference tickets.
