CDC Vouchers were first given out in December 2021 to help Singaporeans with rising daily expenses and support local heartland merchants and hawkers. Since then, they have become a regular part of government hand-outs during the annual Budget announcements.
In January 2024, Singaporean households received $500 in CDC Vouchers, and in June 2024, another $300 in CDC Vouchers were handed out. The next tranche of $300 CDC Vouchers will come in January 2025.
For heartland merchants and hawker centres, the continued use of the CDC Vouchers makes it worth participating in the scheme.

Benefits Of The CDC Vouchers Scheme
CDC Vouchers are now digital. Heartland shop owners and hawkers will need to be onboarded on a new RedeemSG Merchant app to accept the digital CDC Vouchers. This will have other benefits such as more seamless tracking when compared to collecting, counting and handing over paper vouchers.
#1 Next-Day Payout. Merchants will receive the payment on the next day, as long as they provide their bank account/ PayNow proxy (mobile number, NRIC or UEN) to PA accurately.
#2 No Fees or Commissions. Unlike other digital payments that may charge fees or commissions, merchants will receive the full value of the CDC vouchers paid to them.
#3 No Handling of Physical Vouchers. Instead of collecting, counting and handling paper vouchers, the digital CDC Vouchers are digitally tracked, making it more seamless and hygienic for shops and hawkers.
#4 Higher patronage or increased sales activity from patrons who wish to utilise their CDC Vouchers.
It’s important to note that merchants are not required to provide change back if the purchase is less than the amount of the CDC Voucher.
To accept the CDC Vouchers as payment, heartland shops and hawkers have to be onboarded onto the RedeemSG app first. If you, as a shopkeeper or hawker have not downloaded the RedeemSG Merchant app, here’s how you can start accepting these CDC vouchers as payment.
Here’s How Merchants Can Start Accepting Digital CDC Vouchers
To be onboarded to the CDC Voucher scheme, you will need to register with your district’s CDC. You can check which CDC district you are located in using the district locator.
You can also register your interest to be a participating merchant on the CDC website. You simply need to enter your postal code and click on the relevant CDC logo you fall under. CDC Vouchers Ambassadors will get in touch with you once the form is submitted.
If you do not receive a reply after 14 working days, you can contact your respective CDC to check on the status of your registration.

Shops and merchants who have been onboarded on the RedeemSG Merchant app should display the CDC Voucher decal at their shopfront to let customers know you are accepting payments via digital CDC Vouchers. You will receive the decals upon successful onboarding.

Onboarding The RedeemSG Merchant App
During the sign-up process, CDC Vouchers Ambassadors will collect your business contact information. This will include your bank account details, contact information and UEN used by your business. Other information such as NRIC may also be accepted.
You will need to have supporting documents for your bank account or PayNow proxy (handphone number, NRIC or UEN), depending on the mode of payment you choose. Samples of the supporting documents are either your PayNow profile or statement of account. If you are an iPhone user, you should also have your Apple ID and password on hand as you will need it to download and accept the digital CDC Vouchers.

Lastly, do note that you should not be performing any more steps or revealing any more information in the onboarding process.
Here’s A Step By Step Onboarding Guide For Merchants:

Step 1 – Reach out to a CDC Vouchers Ambassador or register your interest to be a participating merchant on the CDC website.

Step 2 – Inform Ambassador of your preferred payment method and provide your details. For example, if you choose PayNow, provide your handphone number, NRIC or UEN. If you select bank transfer, provide bank account number.
