The Global Ready Talent Programme by Enterprise Singapore<\/a> aims to help Singapore companies do just that by providing funding support for companies to build a pipeline of global-ready talent by exposing more Singaporeans to internships and overseas work opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here\u2019s how Singapore companies can tap on the Global Ready Talent Programme (GRT) to hire interns with funding support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Read Also: <\/em>18 Platforms University Students Should Be Using To Find Internships, Part-Time\/Temp Jobs, Freelance Gigs<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Under the GRT, Singapore companies can offer internships to students in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), which include Institute of Technical Education (ITEs), Polytechnics and Universities. Funding support of up to 50% on the monthly internship stipend will be given for local internships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Companies can offer overseas internships if they are operating in overseas markets (preferably in Southeast Asia, China and India). Funding support of up to 50% on the monthly internship stipend will be given to eligible companies while additional monthly subsistence allowance and lump sum travel allowance will be given to the students via their schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Companies can also offer hybrid internships where the internship is split across Singapore and overseas markets for the duration of the internship. They should be able to offer interns the minimum monthly allowance of $800 for ITE and Polytechnic students and $1,000 for University students. This amount is before funding support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They should also have strong Human Resource practices and be committed to talent development. Companies are expected to provide a mentor or supervisor to offer student guidance during the course of the internship. They should also provide a structured internship opportunity with clarity in the internship job scope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For overseas internships, the company must have existing overseas operations, positive business outlook and strong growth plans. Overseas internships should allow the intern to gain regional market knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While the funding for the programme is from Enterprise Singapore, Enterprise Singapore will partner Trade Associations (TACs) to evaluate and qualify promising Singapore companies to come onboard the programme.
