According to the government,&nbsp;<strong>over 90% of the population<\/strong>&nbsp;have either downloaded the TraceTogether (TT) App and\/or collected the TraceTogether Token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the implementation of TT-only SE, one can only check-in to premises using their TT App or TT Token. This means that other current modes of SafeEntry check-in such as launching your phone\u2019s camera or SingPass App to scan a venue\u2019s QR code, will be\u00a0<strong>discontinued.<\/strong> Checkingin with identification cards was also discontinued from 31 May 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 18 June 2021, as the government announced plans for a calibrated easing of safe management measures, it also stated that TraceTogether-only SafeEntry will be enhanced with check-out boxes progressively rolled out at venues with high footfall. This is to facilitate more precise contact tracing efforts at places with higher visitors, such as malls, hospitals and polyclinics, and places where visitors arena close proximity, such as F&amp;B outlets and gyms. Eligible businesses will be notified and will receive their SEGW Check-Out Boxes in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Read Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/dollarsandsense.sg\/business\/guide-to-workplace-safe-management-measures-smm\/\">Guide To Workplace Safe Management Measures (SMM) During Phase 3 (Heightened Alert)<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"what-is-tracetogether-only-safeentry\"><strong>What is&nbsp;TraceTogether-only SafeEntry?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TraceTogether-only SafeEntry is a national digital check-in system that allows one to enter premises by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Scanning the venue\u2019s QR code using the TraceTogether App<\/li><li>Presenting the QR code on one\u2019s TraceTogether Token to be scanned<\/li><li>Tapping their TraceTogether App or Token on the SafeEntry Gateway device<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>TT-only SE helps to prevent and control the transmission of COVID-19 through contact tracing.&nbsp;For both customers and businesses, the nationwide implementation of the TT-only SE would mean a smoother and more convenient check-in process into premises. To facilitate TT-only SE, businesses \/ venue operators should&nbsp;<strong>download the SafeEntry (Business) App or set up the SafeEntry Gateway Box<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"what-is-safeentry-gateway-segw\"><strong>What is SafeEntry Gateway (SEGW)?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First deployed on 19 April 2021 at places with high vistorship, the SafeEntry Gateway (SEGW) is a new check-in method that allows individuals to check into premises more quickly and seamlessly, and to verify that their TraceTogether (TT) Token is working as intended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses can choose to deploy SEGW in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>By downloading\/upgrading the SafeEntry (Business) App to version 1.1.0. (the updated App includes the SEGW functionality)<\/li><li>By registering for an SEGW Box (only for eligible venues)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on the type(s) of SEGW check-in method that businesses implement, individuals can&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartnation.gov.sg\/docs\/default-source\/press-release-materials\/sndgg-press-release_safeentry-gateway-launch_annex_b.pdf?sfvrsn=8097debd_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">check into premises<\/a>&nbsp;by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Tapping their TraceTogether App or Token on a SafeEntry (Business) app with SEGW function or;<\/li><li>Tapping their TraceTogether App or Token on the SEGW Box<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses should note that the SingPass Mobile app does not work with the SEGW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"venues-businesses-where-tracetogether-only-safeentry-is-mandatory\"><strong>V<\/strong><strong>enues \/ Businesses Where&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>TraceTogether-only SafeEntry Is Mandatory<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From 17 May 2021,&nbsp;places with high visitor traffic, and\/or where people are likely to be in close proximity for prolonged periods&nbsp;will be required to implement TT-only SE. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Workplaces e.g. offices and factories<\/li><li>Solemnisations and weddings<\/li><li>Funeral and funerary events<\/li><li>Funeral parlours with wake halls<\/li><li>Schools and educational institutions<\/li><li>Preschools and student care centres<\/li><li>Healthcare facilities<\/li><li>Residential and community-based facilities<\/li><li>Places of worship<\/li><li>Hotels and&nbsp;&nbsp;hostels<\/li><li>Banks and financial institutions<\/li><li>Retail, personal and food &amp; beverage (F&amp;B) services, such as malls, supermarkets, F&amp;B outlets, wet markets, showrooms and others<\/li><li>Tuition and enrichment and training centres<\/li><li>Other training\/ class venues<\/li><li>Country and recreation&nbsp;&nbsp;clubs<\/li><li>Registered premises of other member clubs\/societies<\/li><li>Cultural and entertainment venues<\/li><li>Event venues, such as function halls\/ rooms, event lawns<\/li><li>Cruises<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find out more information on the full&nbsp;details of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smartnation.gov.sg\/docs\/default-source\/press-release-materials\/sndgg-press-release---tt-only-se-implementation---annex-a.pdf?sfvrsn=a110ad7_2\" target=\"_blank\">list of venues provided by the Ministry of Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"businesses-that-dont-require-tracetogether-only-safeentry-or-safeentry\"><strong>Businesses<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>That Don\u2019t Require&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>TraceTogether-only SafeEntry or SafeEntry<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While TT-only SE is a nationwide implementation,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartnation.gov.sg\/docs\/default-source\/press-release-materials\/sndgg-press-release---tt-only-se-implementation---annex-b-(22apr21).pdf?sfvrsn=3ba3c954_2\">certain small businesses<\/a>&nbsp;(e.g. pharmacies, convenience stores and heartland provision shops)&nbsp;are&nbsp;<strong>not required to implement SE<\/strong>. For example, customers are not required to proceed with SE check-in at the Fairprice outlet located inside The Seletar Mall during the mall\u2019s operating hours. They are able to do so via the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.safeentry.gov.sg\/downloads\/se_gateway_device_request_guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">SafeEntry website<\/a>. However, businesses should note that the&nbsp;<strong>number of SEGW Boxes<\/strong>&nbsp;businesses may apply for at no charge differ according to the type of business and venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, public-facing venues such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.safeentry.gov.sg\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/900005868583-Which-venues-are-required-to-deploy-SEGW-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">malls, libraries, hospitals MICE event venues and places of worships with more than 100 people<\/a>&nbsp;may apply for 1 SEGW device per public-facing entry point at each venue at no charge, capped at 4 SEGW Box per venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other venues \/ businesses such as educational institutions, sports and fitness centres, F&amp;B outlets for dine-in customers and personal care services are eligible to apply for 1 SEGW Box per venue at no charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses may&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/form.gov.sg\/#!\/601205edbedd790011b79bbd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">submit an appeal<\/a>&nbsp;should they wish to apply for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>More SEGW Boxes than the existing number of entry points at their premises and\/or;<\/li><li>More than 4 SEGW Box per
