While customers praised the taste and quality, some began to feel the product was too expensive for a stay-at-home meal, especially as inflation hit household budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clement also faced the harsh reality of small-scale manufacturing, limited economies of scale, manual processes, and higher input costs. In contrast, large players source by the container and manufacture at scale, allowing them to keep prices low. From figuring out packaging to balancing sales with production capacity, Clement had to wear multiple hats. \u201cWe didn\u2019t even think about pricing strategy properly at first,\u201d he admits. \u201cWe were just trying to make sure the product could reach customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019s also had to navigate customer perception. \u201cWhen you lower your price, some people think the quality has dropped. But I want to prove that we can maintain or even improve the quality while making it more affordable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout it all, Clement has remained focused on the long game. His aspiration? To make Meet Mee the go-to option for those who want a quick, healthy, and truly Malaysian meal, especially when traditional options like instant noodles don\u2019t fit modern dietary preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"whats-next-for-meet-mee\"><strong>What\u2019s Next For Meet Mee?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognising the need to stay competitive, Clement made a bold decision, which is to rethink the entire product strategy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He plans to reintroduce Meet Mee in 2025 with larger portions, improved taste, faster cooking time, and a lower price point without compromising on health or quality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want to deliver a product that\u2019s bigger, better, and more affordable. That\u2019s how we win the mass market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To get there, Clement is actively seeking partnerships with larger food manufacturers and investors who can help scale operations through semi-automation and better distribution.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI believe this is the kind of thing listed companies should support. We know there&#8217;s a demand, we just need help reducing our production cost.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"adaptability-is-the-key-to-long-term-success\"><strong>Adaptability Is the Key to Long-Term Success<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To young entrepreneurs dreaming of building their own product brand, Clement\u2019s ups and downs in the F&amp;B industry&nbsp;&nbsp;offers both a dose of reality and fact that dreams can become reality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has a practical message for aspiring F&amp;B entrants though, \u201cDon\u2019t assume that good sales mean your business is profitable or sustainable. You must plan ahead for pricing, cost, and capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also believes in listening to customers, especially the tough feedback. \u201cThe market tells you what\u2019s wrong. Our customers said the product is good, but expensive. That\u2019s our challenge to fix.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most importantly, Clement stresses persistence. \u201cYou won\u2019t get everything right the first time.
