Apart from creating our own content at DollarsAndSense, our team also enjoy reading, watching, and listening to other good content. It\u2019s not just because we\u2019re in the business of content creation, and need to stay in touch with what\u2019s happening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, Timothy and I initially started DollarsAndSense as a passion project because we shared an interest in consuming and creating personal finance content. Even today, I tend to stay within the realms of interests \u2013 personal finance and business building and, I also enjoy sports \u2013 football and badminton in particular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuning In To Podcasts More Regularly<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One content type I find myself consuming much more regularly, especially in recent years, is podcasts. Don\u2019t get me wrong, I still love reading articles and watching videos. Podcasts are simply another form of content I can enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I listen to the podcasts during my daily commute to and from work \u2013 spending about half an hour from door to door. That\u2019s also the beauty of podcasts \u2013 I simply have to put in my AirPods the moment I leave my home to start enjoying content. With reading articles and watching videos, I can only start consuming content once I\u2019m seated on the bus\/train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since DollarsAndSense is in the business of creating content, it led to a natural question: why aren\u2019t we creating podcasts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This question has become especially since more people are starting to love the content type. I just had to Google for Spotify\u2019s listenership to support this point. It has over 551 million users<\/a> across over 180 markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started creating our personal finance podcasts some time back. Now, after featuring over 70 entrepreneurs on articles on our DollarsAndSense Business website<\/a>, we\u2019re introducing our business podcast: The Building Series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It makes a lot of sense to also record our conversations with these business leaders as well \u2013 getting a different perspective (and format) from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Building Series \u2013 Interviewing Ng Kok Song, Ex-GIC CIO, Founding Partner of Avanda Investment Management, and Presidential Candidate<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In The Building Series, we talk to business owners and leaders, and hear their stories and game plan on what it takes to build a business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We cover topics that include the motivation behind why they started their company, the difficulty of getting a business off the ground, how to build a sustainable business, how to scale a business internationally and their plans for the future. We also dive into the type of challenges they face such as funding and cash flow, talent attraction and retention, competition and disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our first episode, we were privileged speak to presidential candidate Mr Ng Kok Song, Ex-GIC CIO, Founding Partner of Avanda Investment Management. I got to ask him about the challenges he faced starting up his own investment management firm. Even with a track record of being the ex-CIO of GIC, he hit many walls \u2013 with some prospective clients even telling him that his GIC track record was not his.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
